Casey Wright
Casey is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Psychology at West Virginia University where he studies topics in the broad area of clinical health psychology. He is passionate about interdisciplinary research, as evidenced by his work which crosses multiple disciplines including psychology, oral health, gastroenterology, and philosophy of science. His work currently is funded by an F31, and beginning in March 2021, will be funded by an F99/K00 predoctoral to postdoctoral transition award from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) at the NIH. Casey has received recognition for his work including NIDCR's "Building Bridges Award" for multidisciplinary work in oral health and psychology. He earned a masters degree in Psychology from West Virginia University and a masters degree in Instructional Psychology and Technology from Brigham Young University. Prior to that, he also received two bachelors degrees from Utah Valley University, one in Behavioral Sciences and one in Integrated Studies with emphases in German and Psychology. Personally, Casey enjoys basketball, rock climbing, golf, snow skiing, and yard work. Most of all, he loves spending time with his family and their two chickens (Puzzle and Lotte).
