Matthew C. Arias
Matthew Arias
moved from Southern California and entered the clinical psychology graduate training
program in Fall of 2014. With specific interests in anxiety, pain, and fear,
his broad focus is on health psychology and improving access/range of treatments.
He has been advanced to doctoral candidacy, and completed a master’s thesis project
examining exposure delivered by smartphone. He is currently working on his dissertation
examining patient preferences for exposure therapy in order to improve adoption
of treatment. Matthew has taught Psych 101 (Introduction for Psychology), worked
as a graduate student therapist in the Quin Curtis Center, and provided therapy
to residents living at Hopemont Hospital. Matthew is currently conducting neuropsychological
assessments at Neuropsychology Group of West Virginia. He enjoys being outdoors,
which includes road cycling, hiking, and rock climbing. He also has a growing
interest in computer coding.
